I am a birth doula trained through DONA International and am eager to share my passion and knowledge with expectant mothers. My passion for doula work stems from over 10 years of experience in nonprofit work. It is through my nonprofit work that I discovered my true calling of women supporting women. I spent many years working on behalf of, and alongside, many remarkable women who taught me that women have strength and determination beyond what we thought capable; sometimes we just need someone to remind us of our capabilities and help us draw from that strength.
I have a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s degree of public administration both from the University of Wyoming. After living in Wyoming for 10 years, I returned to my hometown of Lompoc to begin my own family and to share my skills and enthusiasm with women in my home area. I am a mother to a spirited, loving four year old and a partner to a kind, patient individual who have each taught me more about life than I ever thought imaginable. My pregnancy, labor and delivery, and never ending education as a “new parent” have fueled my passion to help women feel confident and empowered through pregnancy, birth, and motherhood.
I firmly believe women possess the strength and determination to thrive through any life experience including labor and delivery; my role as a doula is to remind women of their inherent strengths. Pregnancy and birth can be some of the most exciting, beautiful, overwhelming, and awe inspiring experiences in women’s lives; I would be honored to support you through this transformational time.
