Laura Sanchez is a birth and postpartum doula and childbirth educator, trained by the HypnoBirthing Institute, La Leche League International, CAPPA, and DONA. Since 2004, Laura has served over two hundred families on the Central Coast through her education and support before, during, and after childbirth. She has been a requested speaker at French Hospital, Cal Poly State University, and Cuesta College on pregnancy, childbirth, and breastfeeding. Additionally, Laura has served as a La Leche League Leader and Breastfeeding Counselor, as well as a member of the board of directors for San Luis Obispo Breastfeeding Resources. Laura enjoys bringing that knowledge and experience into her birth and postpartum work.
Laura believes in compassionate, evidence-based care for all women and families. This passion fuels her life’s work. Her philosophy on birth is simple: Women’s bodies are perfectly designed to birth, and the body has an innate ability to heal itself. Laura’s conviction that all women should have access to compassionate and evidence-based care was born of her personal and professional experience, showing the profound effect such care can have on an unfolding family.
Laura is married to her soulmate, Dave, and they live in rural Arroyo Grande with their four children, surrounded by animals, mountains, and ranchlands. Her hobbies include swimming, reading, horseback riding, cooking, and hiking with her family.
